The creative opportunity offered by the Motion Graphics Response struck a chord with Ryan Rafferty-Phelan, who jumped at the opportunity to direct, design and animate our entry, in partnership with The Foundry, Echoic and Maxon. “Transcendence” is an abstract editorial sequence based on the concept of being reborn into a synthetic version of ourselves. It mixes bold typographical elements with both macro and stylised shots of our senior motion designer, Nik Hill. The visual captures an interplay between biological, organic compounds and technological components interfacing with the human body to illustrate a possible future human self.
